A Dream Come True

As our kids began to perform today in Monterey, a personal dream for both Leon and I came true.  One of our goals since starting KCYJ was to someday take students outside the KC area to perform, both to promote Kansas City Jazz and also to build the personal growth of our students.

As I watched the students perform, my mind drifted to the Reno kids as individuals and how far they have come and how much they have grown up.  We have had relationships with some of the students for 6 or 7 years and some only a short time, but it was very clear to see what an impact music education and KCYJ has had in their lives.

What wonderful ambassadors they are.  We are so proud!
